These past weeks have been full of injustices that we do not stand for. We take a knee in the fight against racism and systematic oppression that has been going on for hundreds of years.  As a company, our mission is to improve behavioral health outcomes, and we pledge to actively address the lack of access to behavioral health services for the black community.

Please join us next Thursday June 11, 2020, 7pm-8:30pm to discuss the issues of systematic racism: the facts, the behaviors, and the actions we can take.

Inequitable Access to Behavioral Healthcare for Black Americans: How Extraordinary Events and Public Anger Offer a Window for Change

This event features Dr.Thomas LaVeist, Ph.D. Dean of the Tulane University School of Public Health, and Belinda Biscoe, Ph.D. interim Vice President for University of Oklahoma Outreach/College of Continuing Education and moderated by Dr. Patrick Bordnick, Dean of the Tulane University School of Social Work.

Together with our Dean LaVeist, Dr. Biscoe, and Dean Bordnick, we are privileged to be in New Orleans, a city whose vibrant and diverse culture allows us to see and understand many of the issues we all face today. In the act of solidarity and action, for every event attendee, TPN.Health will donate $5 to the community nonprofit Son of a Saint.

Through its work, Son of a Saint is transforming the lives of fatherless boys in Greater New Orleans through mentorship, emotional support, development of life skills, exposure to constructive experiences and by building positive peer-to-peer relationships—all of which are vital mechanisms to enlighten and uplift during this period of social justice awakening.

We will continue to work on educating ourselves and our members, hosting educational events, and providing access to resources to those disproportionately affected by behavioral health issues. Stay tuned as we develop plans of actions and initiatives, as our work to be anti-racist is never over.
